Leadership

Leadership I have a masters in family therapy and so I have some knowledge about human ideas, how people heal and grow and now I have an opportunity to work with clients in a Christian environment. I am able to integrate some of the things that I've learned from school but more importantly, I've seen the power of the Gospel work in my clients lives and transform them.  One of my students, a DV victim, has had her children taken away, was suicidal, and homeless, is now a transformed person. Slowly she began to believe and accept the word of God as truth and she grew in a community of other believers. She said that she can't believe she has joy, hope, and contentment. She went from trying to kill herself to finding joy in the Lord and strength from His word. My students amaze me. She is still homeless, without a ...

Is Obedience a Choice?

Folsom Lake 2014 There was a particular time in my life when I felt God telling me to humble myself. I didn't think much of the event until about a month later when I began to have all sorts of problems that eventually led me to experience complete brokenness. Then I remembered what God had told me to do. We are faithless but God remain...

Choosing God's way

You know that feeling you get when you've made a decision that you're not quite sure about? The feeling of peace isn't there; its a feeling of unrest and unease. As Christians we are blessed with every spiritual blessing, we have Christ with us, we have knowledge, and His word to direct us, so what could possibly be the problem? The problem is that we are determined to do things our way because we don't always put our trust in doing things God's way. We think; wait, no, but,.... and look for our justification. When Moses was leading the people though the desert they began to complain because there was no water. So he went to God and asked him what to do. God told him this; The LORD said to Moses,  “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.” Numbers 20:7-8 So what d...
