Surrender

So as I was researching this topic I found these words:
Yield, relinquish control, to render or return, acceptance, acknowledgement, compliance, cooperation, and approval.
We can consciously do all these things when we understand and know our God. We know the source of where we get our information, the word of God. We can place our trust in his word because we know that we serve a loving, merciful, all knowing God.

We are living in a hostile, dangerous world and it tells us we need to do certain things to succeed, or feel better, or make more money, find a mate, or get peace. In addiction counseling the trained professionals say to practice yoga, in Buddhism to practice spiritual disciplines, some people say to get ahead in life to throw religion out the window!  In some Christian circles there are conferences that host special speakers, that aren't Christian but in the worlds eyes "successful" and they teach Christians how to succeed!? Why would we look to the world for answers? This world has NOTHING to offer. All the answers are in His word, not some self help book or personal development seminar. We need to be discerning and look at who is giving us our information- are they godly? In Ray Comforts new you tube, Evolution vs God, Ray questions atheists and asks the educators for proof of what they believe and not one can give any proof or evidence of what they believe. Yet all these college students are willing to place their beliefs, and trust in these "professionals" who can't answer a simple question.

God says: Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in The Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

The wisdom of the world is vastly different from that of the wisdom of God. Our understanding is limited, we don't see the big picture just a small sliver. We don't have to know everything, just know the first step in front of us, and be willing to obey. When we seek, ask, and honor God he will direct us. Surrender means accepting the situation, waiting if he says to wait, complying with what he calls us to do, giving God control of our lives and agreeing that God knows best, he is God our loving father, who will never abandon us, who thinks good thoughts toward us continually, we can trust in Him. We can yield to a creator who wields his chisel masterfully to create his workmanship designed to give Him the glory that He deserves.

Gods enduring love

I came across this today written from Oswald Chambers; "When we realize that Jesus Christ has served us to the end of our meanness, our selfishness, and sin, nothing that we meet with from others can exhaust our determination to serve men for His sake." This was a great reminder for me today as I am at my wits end in dealing with my children. I have one that snuck out the window, and another on her phone at three in the morning discussing her drunken exploits. This is heart wrenching for a mother who has continued to try to teach and instruct in the ways of Christ, but sometimes it seems, to no avail. I felt myself getting angry and having a feeling of distaste toward my daughters but then after reading this sentence I realized that Christ loved me at my most ugly point. Jesus- my cheese

Just read this great little book about change. This is how the author describes it; "cheese is a metaphor for what you want to have in life whether it is a good job, a loving relationship, money, a possession, health, or spiritual peace of mind. This is a story of four characters who live in a maze and look for the "cheese" to nourish them and make them happy." Spencer Johnson, M.D. Change is difficult because you never know what to expect and it takes some faith that God is going to provide the "cheese." In this book the characters find the cheese and its this huge stash, they like it so much that they move their homes closer to it. They invest their whole lives in this particular cheese. Then one day it runs out. Two of the characters move on to discover more cheese while the other two are left behind. These two "hem" and "haw" are frustrated and angry that the cheese is gone.
