Hope
I remember when I was a child playing this game with my siblings where you turn around and fall backward into their arms and they catch you, now if they are nice they catch you, but if they are holding a grudge toward you and want to get you back for something they might just let you fall! So you pretty much have to trust that they literally have your back!
In the Christian walk when we experience difficulties for whatever reason, sin, unfaithfulness, pride of life, others sin etc.. We don't always feel confident that God is going to be there to catch us because we haven't been completely faithful, or honest, or walking with Him. Were guilty. So we lose confidence in the relationship because there's no communication and because of our sin we don't hear him. However, God is always pursuing us and the trial motivates us to seek him. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. The trial also motivates us to pray and repent.
Know this, that God has a purpose for the trial, and he knows the beginning and the end. He is faithful to bring us through it. He is always faithful, this is His nature. Sometimes he has to remove a lot of things in our lives before we are willing to pay Him any attention. Sometimes we don't understand why we are going through the trial until its over, then we look back and see how prideful and selfish we were, or how self righteous, or whatever the reason.
We can always hope in Him through any trial. He hears us and knows what we need.
Psalm 42: 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance..
Psalm 119:114 You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.
We can trust that he has a purpose for the trial and his word directs us and brings us refreshment.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is mercy, And with Him is abundant redemption.
Psalm 130:7
He redeems us from the pit and knows that we are but grass, his mercies are new every morning.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Even in the darkest times we can know that God has a purpose for the trial and he has our best interests at heart.
As it is written: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” Romans 9:33
God will not abandon or forsake his people. He has a covenant relationship with us that he upholds.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. Jeremiah 17:7
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. Jeremiah 17:7
So we can be confident that he will perfect that which concerns us- we can rest in his promises to us and hope in the salvation that awaits us. God has your back. (Psalm 138)
