Being mindful of the Spirit

In class I was learning about "mindfulness" and how we need to be able to teach our clients to be in the present with a calm, clear mind.  People tend to live in the past (depression) or focus too much on the future (anxiety). God teaches us;  "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day [is] its own trouble."(Matthew 6:34) There are several exercises we did that included a meditation exercise of focusing on the "breath." I know sounds kinda weird but It did help to relax and calm me. But I thought wouldn't it be even better If we focused on our real power and strength as Christians? So I wrote up a little prayer about the Holy Spirit and what he does. Take just two minutes to remember who is on the throne, who is in control, and trust in Him.

Gentle spirit within

Thank you for the peace you give-

thank you for your presence.

Your spirit resides within this temple

So help me yield to you.

Give me courage to do your will so the world may see your love.

For we are holy and set apart for the work you have called us to do.

Teach me your ways so I won’t be a fool, filled with the wisdom of man, but I will glory in you.

May the fire burn brighter

May your power pour out

Don’t let my feet wonder from the path you have ordained but

Lead me , move me, to follow you

So I know your divine ways

Then the world will see your goodness

And glory in you.
Speak Holy Spirit so your words will be mine

Thank you for your spirit

Fill me with your joy!

I hope that you are encouraged! Blessings.
